Christmas 2017 @ Pantano
This has become an Elliott family tradition. For the first three Saturday nights in December (December 2, 9, 16), we’re having an amazing Christmas celebration. The fun runs from 5:30-8:30pm each night. There’s tons to do, like Christmas crafts, cookie decorating, mini gingerbread houses, bingo and hayrides ($5 per person – sign up here). This year we are adding the Indoor Winter Wonderland in the volleyball court where there will be continuous snowfall, 1500 snowballs for an epic snowball fight and more. Plus there will be hot chocolate as well as fire pits to roast marshmallows and enjoy s’mores, free Christmas photos, live entertainment, a living nativity and food trucks if you want to purchase dinner. You don’t want to miss this!
Invite your family and friends to join you. It is a simple way to introduce folks to our church and use that as a way to invite them to join you for Christmas Eve services as well.
Sunday – Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year, so to eliminate confusion and not burn out our staff and volunteers, we are not going to do our regular Sunday service programming at 9am, 11am and 1pm but move to our usual one-hour family Christmas Eve services at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, and 7pm. We will have children’s programing up to only age 6. We’ll have communion available for you in Towne Hall Student Center before and after each service.
To celebrate Christmas, we’ll have some fun, sing Christmas carols, I’ll share a short message that will speak to both believers and non-believers and we’ll finish with candle-lighting. Our team puts a great deal of time and thought into making this a meaningful celebration of Christmas for all who attend. Again, this is a great opportunity to invite family and friends to join you. And if you are out of town, all four services will be live online.
In the recent years past, we’ve been at near capacity in the 3pm and 5pm services. If you are able to attend the 1pm or 7pm service, that will help make more room. We’ve experienced a 20% growth over the same time last year so we want to make sure we have a seat for all.
Christmas Eve Offering
We will not be taking our usual Sunday offering for our regular tithes at the Christmas Eve services. Our focus will be on our Christmas Eve special offering. With so many visitors, we don’t want to take two offerings. So please arrange to give your normal offering online (click here to see how) or you can give your normal gift by using the wooden offering boxes located on the columns in the lobby.
Our Christmas Eve Offering will make a difference around the world. The first $25,000 will go to help fund our Feed My Starving Children Pack. In January, we will be packing about 400,000 nutritious meals that can feed starving kids (more on this coming soon). Everything above that first $25,000 will go to helping empower our partners in West Africa and India. We’ll be providing funds to help the national church planters start businesses. They are all bi-vocational and the funds will help them buy sewing machines, mushroom farms, food preparation equipment, etc so they can earn a living. And we’ll also provide funds for our church planters to buy bicycles and motorcycles to be able to get to the villages they serve and want to reach. These courageous folks sacrifice everything to take the message of Jesus to the unreached villages. This kind of support is what they most need to continue to do their amazing work.
There are numerous opportunities to get involved as we celebrate the Christmas season. Join us and start a new tradition with your family and friends.
