Easter is here! I love this celebration. Easter is the day that we remember that our hope and very life is dependent on what happened the Sunday after Jesus was crucified. God raised him from the dead. Death was powerless. Sin and death were defeated. He’s alive! Because Jesus is the conqueror and overcomer, we know that death, which will come to each of us, is not the end; It is just a path to life that never ends. But the resurrection means even more. It means that this life can’t rob us of the life God really wants for us this side of eternity. What I’ll share and remind us about on Easter Sunday is that even today, Jesus is calling dead people, like you and me, to life. This will be a message of great hope! We’ve planned an amazing Easter service, you don’t want to miss it.
There will be four Easter services available to attend. We are adding a 7am service before our usual 9am, 11am and 1pm services. KidZone will not be available during the 7am service, but will be running during the other three services as usual. High school and middle school students will join the adults. We’ll have the stadium seats out in Coop Court/Café to make more room for our guests, but given past experience, the 9am and 11am will likely be filled to capacity. IF you are able to attend the 7am or 1pm service that would help make space for our visitors! If you are out of town, or unable to attend in person, you can watch us Live Online at each of the four services.
Free breakfast will be served at the outside basketball court from 8AM – 9AM and 10AM – 11AM, and a free lunch will be served from 12PM – 1PM.
At the end of my message, people who would like to be baptized will be invited to do so. If you have been thinking about this or know someone who would like to be baptized, this is a great day to celebrate new life and a new beginning with Jesus. We have made contingency plans and will maintain our usual 70 minute services no matter how many folks make the decision to be baptized. We are praying for over a hundred baptisms this Easter.
Finally, on the Saturday before Easter (March 31), we’ll have our New Life Celebration. This free family event is from 9:30am to 1:30pm. There will be egg hunts, inflatable bounce houses, crafts including egg dyeing, train rides, face painting, a petting zoo, an illusionist and more. Food will be available for purchase.
Use these two great opportunities to invite folks to join you for our Saturday family fun celebration and our Sunday Easter service. Join us as we celebrate that Christ is risen…He is risen indeed!
