For our 7th Reclaiming Hope Conference, we are hosting a 1 day Summit with Becky Haas. Whether you serve within the Justice system, as an educator, within the faith community or within the social services realm – Becky will help equip, empower, and connect us all in creating more trauma informed organizations to serve our Tucson community!
This 1 day Summit will include professional development covering the basics of Trauma, ACEs, Resilience, and Using a Trauma Informed Approach. We will finish the day by learning how we can help create trauma informed healing communities.
She is an international advocate and trainer on using a trauma informed approach and the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study. She is a pioneer in creating trauma-informed healing communities. Work she led in Northeast Tennessee while working for the Johnson City Police Department was recognized by SAMHSA in 2018 as a model for cities to follow. Becky authors sector specific professional development training with two receiving statewide accreditations in Tennessee as evidence-based training and one earning national accreditation. Though she is sought out as an organizational coach, and for training professionals of every kind, she is uniquely distinguished for her work training police officers and others in the justice system to understand trauma. She has a deep understanding of the importance for every professional sector to have intimate knowledge of healthy early childhood development and the potential for early adversity to disrupt that healthy development. Among many accolades she received, in 2022, she was awarded the Friends of Children Award by the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth for her statewide efforts to reduce the effects of childhood trauma. Becky’s book, Your City is Waiting on You, is an inspiring example of what 1 person can do to initiate life-giving change.
