Each fall, Pantano caravans south to Puerto Peñasco “Rocky Point” on the Sea of Cortez. We pick up hammers alongside a local family and, in a single weekend, help frame and raise a house that becomes their home.
You don’t need construction skills. You don’t need to have done this before. If you can carry a board, paint a wall, or play with kids, there’s a place for you on the build site. It’s one of the most hands-on, whole-family ways we know to put love into motion.
Mornings are work. Afternoons are the local community. Evenings are dinner, worship, and stories around the table at the 1Mission complex.
1Mission gives families in poverty the opportunity to earn their home by serving their own community. The house isn’t a handout — it’s earned through hours invested in neighbors, which builds dignity and roots that outlast the build.
Families can still choose a hotel or condo but we highly recommend staying on-site to save funds and stay together.
Cover the team, the travel, and the families receiving homes. Prayer support is real support.
Fund the scholarship that sends someone who couldn’t otherwise afford to go. Every gift puts another set of hands on a build site.
We’ll begin handing out shirts on Oct 29 & Nov 1.
One weekend changes a family’s address and tends to change yours too. Spots are limited and registration closes Sept 7.
